Arise Milwaukee, Inc. is a Catholic 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization encouraging and facilitating transformative encounter experiences with Christ in the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. While many lay, not-for-profit evangelization organizations exist around the country, Arise Milwaukee is unique. Arise Milwaukee has a solid foundation of leadership guiding the organization, a track record of success, and an expanding group of committed and capable, professional volunteers.
Position Summary:
The vision of our Development Director will be responsible for fundraising and increased monthly donors to support our growing Encounters, Events and Programs. Below are some of the current Encounters:

Wisconsin Catholic Youth Rallies: Rallies for both Catholic school and public school middle school and high school students.

Arise Worship Nights: Large group events at local parishes, including Eucharistic Adoration, Confession, and Praise & Worship music

Spark Youth Leadership: Our mission is to form young Catholic missionary disciples in prayer, wisdom, and leadership. This program is a collaborative effort with the Archdiocee of Milwaukee.

Cor Jesu: a weekly ministry providing an opportunity for Eucharistic Adoration, Confession, and daily mass. This is a collaborative effort with various other local ministries.

Arise Family Day: To help build a strong catholic identify in the family through fun and the sacraments.

Programming Expansion: Arise Milwaukee is looking to expand its ministry footprint into additional youth and adult ministry opportunities.
Key Duties and Management Responsibilities:
Development/Fundraising

Reports to the Executive Director.
-
Collaborate with and take direction from development committee and Executive Director
-
Partner with Ministry Committee & Event Team and Discernment Committee to identify and fundraise for new programming needs
-
Maintain and improve upon current donor database marketing
-
Create new relationships with major donors in Milwaukee, both personal and corporate
-
Identify new opportunities for grants and one-time gifts, locally and nationally
-
Work with Event Team to ensure Arise brand is consistent across all events and all points of communication related to development

Improve experience and attendance at Gala
-
Identify criteria for when it is / is not appropriate to engage in fundraising

Work with existing development committee to roadmap annual appeals and fundraising events.

Privately meet with existing donors and potential donors.

Define and achieve fundraising metrics and thresholds

Generate overall awareness of Arise Milwaukee’s mission and purpose to attract and retain volunteers, donors, and strategic supporters.

Help define day-to-day responsibilities of Arise Staff, part-time administrative staff and volunteers

Become intimately involved with existing programming, and assist on programming teams
Strategic Leadership

Work collaboratively with volunteer leaders, staff/Event Coordinators, and the Board of Directors to cast a vision for fund raising for financial growth.

Maintain a sense of professionalism and orthodoxy in every aspect of the ministry

Build a healthy Christian community among volunteers, supporters, etc.

Identify and implement best practices of Catholic non-profit ministries, with a focus on promoting evangelization, relational ministry, and discipleship
Desired Skills/Knowledge/Experience/Education:
-
Passionate Catholic in good standing with the Church, faithful to the Magisterium and engaged in a life of daily prayer and frequent reception of the sacraments

Experience in nonprofit fundraising and development; proven track record of fundraising success

Knowledge of Catholic organizational structures and current ecclesiastical context
-
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Fundraising, Public Relations, Business, Marketing, Communications, etc.)

Passionate in both ministry and faith formation and business and operations
-
Goal oriented, driven, critical thinker – takes initiative, works independently, develops creative ideas, while having a high level of personal energy and enthusiasm

Superior communication skills including speaking, writing, and presentation. Ideal candidate could serve as a speaker for ministry or fundraising events.

Must present well-groomed, professional experience.

Proficient computer skills with knowledge in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and various other windows-based programs.

Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to provide critical outstanding customer service with a dedication to 100% customer satisfaction.

Have a strong work ethic, be a disciplined and motivated team player with good people skills

Must present a well-groomed, professional appearance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The essential functions include, but are not limited to, providing outstanding customer service using the company's resources; working with minimal direction and supervision; communicating with Donors, prospects, Board of Directors and committees, vendors, and Arise team members through email and phone; clearly verbally communicating details effectively in personal and group settings; completing multiple sales activities using a variety of databases, maintaining accurate and timely records; ensuring confidentiality of all proprietary information; and being able to travel locally and out-of-town, when necessary. Must have full speech, vision, hearing, and mobility, with or without reasonable accommodations, and meet all the requirements of Arise Milwaukee, Inc including passing a physical, criminal background check, and drug test. Must possess a valid driver’s license
